Hi Mandy, nice to 'meet' you. I am Naomi aged 47 and from Devon. I know what you mean about feeling 146! This is a great place to be if you have RA with lots of information and support. I'm wondering if you are newly diagnosed (like me) or just new to the group and an old hand at RA. I look forward to reading your future posts. best wishes from Naomi.

Hi Mandy and welcome to the forum.

Sorry to hear you feel so " old ", is everything going well with your medication or are you perhaps planning to go onto some other treatment. There is much to read on the older posts which may be of help to you too. I am fifty six, and have had RA for three years now. and pleased to say I now have it under control at the mo, with the drug Cimzia and methotrexate by injection.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Mandy

Welcome to the forum ; a great place to be for support and information; lots of folk, lots of knowledge and a wealth of tried and tested experiences! Glad you have found us and NRAS! ThumpUp

I'm Lyn, married to Mike, we have four 'big kids' Abby 24, Ian and Jake 18, and Louis 17. We live in Thornton Cleveleys in north west Lancashire. I was diagnosed with RA almost 24 years ago and have since run the gauntlet of medication, had several surgical procedures along the way and looks like more in the offing! Currently on Prednisolone, Methotrexate, Naproxen and seem to have just failed on Rituximab! I was previously on anti-tnf for 8 years but had to stop due to lack of efficacy and various other problems along the way. Add to that a bucket load of pain killers and other bits and pieces! But heyho...

Like anything, a positive outlook and a determination not to be beaten goes a long way with this disease! Sorry to be different but I don't feel old at 55 ... just knackered Tongue

Look forward to getting to know you Mandy.

Lyn x

My son, Ian, completed the BUPA Great North Run on 15th September running for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS). You can read his story at http://www.justgiving.com/ianlukewilson

Hi Mandy
I'm Mary, 52 years old, fairly new to the site myself. It's a great place to learn about RA, the people on here are very knowledgable.
It's a shame you feel so old, hopefully the meds will start to work and you will begin to feel better.
Look forward to more posts from you.
